A Tisket, A Tasket… An Atwater & Lake Bluff Basket

Dear Atwater & Lake Bluff Communities,

This year SEED is celebrating its 20th anniversary…that’s 20 years of giving to programs such as the theatre, music, science labs, reading materials, school clubs, and almost all subject areas k-12! Because of the generosity of this community, SEED has been able to donate over 4 million dollars to Shorewood Public Schools since its inception.

SEED’s main fundraiser takes place each year in the spring (May 4th, 2024 at Discovery World) and has an online auction that goes from April 26-May 5. We rely on donations from parents, local businesses, and community members to populate our online and silent auction.

This year, we are partnering with the Atwater & Lakebluff PTOs to create one gift basket from each PTO to be auctioned off on the evening of the gala. We thought it might be fun to have a bit of competition and see which school PTO can create the most exciting gift basket. These baskets will be in lieu of a cash donation from each PTO, as has been done in past years. All donations can be turned into the PTO presidents from now until April 20th.

Lake Bluff’s basket theme will be Door County! A 4 night cottage stay was donated, so the PTO will collect things such as your favorite Door County restaurant gift card, books, merchandise, jams, entertainment vouchers, ect. This is a chance to get together with friends and other parents, be creative, share your love of Door County, and raise money for some of Shorewood Public School’s amazing & beloved programs. Sarah Keefe, LakeBluff PTO President will be collecting all items and can be reached at lakebluffptopresident@gmail.com

Atwater has yet to secure a stay, and would love your help getting one donated…if you or someone you are close to has a cabin, air b&b, or timeshare they are willing to donate 3-7 nights too, please contact Amanda! Once they have a “place” the theme will be communicated and based off the destination. Amanda Root, Atwater PTO President will be collecting all donations towards this basket: atwaterpto414@gmail.com.

There are more ways that you can participate in the success of this year’s gala through collecting donations, getting an advertisement at the gala, becoming a sponsor, attending the gala, or volunteering. Our Co-Chairs for this year’s gala are Sarah Lehmann (lehwomann@yahoo.com) and Angie Price (amprice03@gmail.com). We would be thrilled to hear from you, answer any questions you have, and hopefully get you on board to be a part of one of Shorewood’s most anticipated events.

Best Wishes,
Sarah Lehmann & Angie Price
